The earthquake that hit Haiti back in the beginning of the year was devastating to that area and I remember hearing about a benefit concert on tv asking people to donate. I don't watch that much tv so obviously I missed it. Honestly, I would rather listen to music all day than watch tv, but anyway, a few weeks ago Allison told me about the remake of the 1980's song "We are the World" that was supposed to help raise money for Haiti.
Personally, I loved the original version because I can remember when it first came out. Kenny Rogers *sigh*. LOL! I grew up in the 80's and loved a lot of the music from that time. "From that time"....haha, makes me sound sooo old. But I loved the original version just because it was a good song with artists from all different music genres in it.
Well, I came across this "new" version and thought it was interesting. It had artists such as Josh Groban *sigh*, Celine Dion, Lil Wayne, Pink, Jennifer Hudson, Fergie and lots of others that contributed their voices to the remake. In fact, I don't think any of the people who sang in this version were in the original except for Stevie Wonder. We all know that Josh Groban *another sigh* and Celine can sing, but I had no idea that Pink and Jennifer Hudson had such great voices! I listen to all kinds of music but don't necessarily hear those two ladies sing like this. They were awesome in this song! I was also surprised to hear that Jamie Foxx could sing pretty well. There were some other interesting "add-ins" to this remake. I'm posting the video so you can see for yourself. I encourage you to watch and see if you can spot some other celebrities hiding in the chorus group. I was quite surprised. Hope you enjoy!
**Don't forget to pause the music playing in the sidebar first before you start the video**
By the way, I do like this version as well. I am really interested to hear what you think so be sure and leave a comment!!
OHH and for those interested, here is the original if you want to compare! :)

The new one is OK but I'm still partial to the old version. I guess it's all that HAIR that brings back so many memories! :)
