God IS So Good!!

Again, let me say...GOD IS SO GOOD!!

Let me first say, CONGRATULATIONS to my best friends Robert & Stephanie on the birth of their new little blessing Cameron Tyler!! He was born last night and was 6lbs 13oz and 20in long. Isn't he beautiful? And look at that hair!! :)

Cameron has had an adventurous little journey the last 4 weeks. Stephanie has been in and out of the hospital several times and was even put on bed rest because he was trying to make his entrance a *little* too early.

Last night, Robert and Stephanie had some friends over for dinner and Stephanie wasn't feeling well. She was hurting and having a lot of pressure. She went to the back and called the Dr. and they advised her to go ahead and come to the hospital and to hurry since this was her fourth child. Her and Robert quickly gathered their things, asked their friends to please watch their other children until Stephanie's parents could get there and they headed down to the hospital.

They walked onto the Labor & Delivery floor and Cameron was born 15 minutes later!!

Just think about all that was going on in that 15 minutes. A very pregnant momma trying her hardest to quickly undress and re-dress into a fashionable tushy revealing hospital gown, climbing up in to the bed, getting comfortably situated, needing to use the restroom but unable to because the nurses have to check her, being poked and prodded with a ginormous needle that has to hurriedly be put in before an epidural can be administered, blood pressure being checked.....the nurses realizing that she is 8cm dialated with her bag of waters bulging, NO TIME for an epidural...and WOW, baby flows out in said bag of waters....ALL NATURAL....with the Dr. coming into the room to deliver the baby 7 minutes after little baby boy is born. WOW, WOW, WOW!! Fifeteen minutes doesn't really seem like a long time when you have all of that going on!

Kudos to you mommy!!! Welcome to the 4 kid club!! We are so excited for you guys and can't wait to meet and hold this new little one tonight!!

Just think, if their friends hadn't have come over to dinner or if Robert and Stephanie had waited themselves for her parents to get there, then Robert could have possibly been delivering his own son at home! It was a totally a God thing!! I don't believe in "coincidences"....EVERYTHING happens for a reason and even though we may not understand it at the time....He has a purpose for everything!!

Welcome to the world Cameron!! :)

Look at what I found.....

This is Stephanie and me on a girls trip to the beach about 15 years ago! Funny stuff!

All of Creation

Separated until the veil was torn
The moment that hope was born
and guilt was pardoned once and for all

Captivated but no longer bound by chains
left at an empty grave
the sinner and the sacred resolved

[chorus:]
and all of creation sing with me now
lift up your voice and lay your burden down
and all of creation sing with me now
fill up the heavens let his glory resound

Time has faded and we see him face to face
every doubt erased forever we will worship the king

[repeat chorus]

ohh ah ohhh...ohh ah ohhh

the reason we breathe is to sing of his glory
and for all he has done praise the father praise the son and the spirit in one

[repeat chorus 2x]

and every knee will bow oh and every tongue praise the father praise the son and the spirit in one

~Mercy Me

This is an awesome song!!! So uplifting and encouraging!! Have a GREAT Saturday friends!!!

The Death of Me

Yes, yes(shaking my head side to side in disappointment)....the death of me will be cargo pants! HA!

Here's why:

When David was an assistant market manager (he used to cut meat and became very skilled at it) he would wear a plain 'ole shirt and Dickies....work pants, covered by a white long market coat. Those work pants would come home dirty, stinky and splattered with blood, goo....whatever and I could just wash them, stick them in the dryer and WHHHALA, they were ready for work the next day. Almost like insta fabric if that makes any sense. :P

Well, one week after our Mimi was born, David started a new job. At that job he could wear shorts, jeans, dress pants....basically whatever he wanted that was in good taste and reason. I didn't have to worry too much about his wardrobe during that time. He was in that job for a few years (time and title held him there) and really wanted to take on a different type of job within the same company. He worked so hard and studied to achieve his goal. He was so excited when he realized that his goal would be met. He was then going to be outside. All the time...during the rain, snow, sleet, thunderstorms, hot summer, cold winter...whatever the elements, he would be right there in them.

The thing I liked about him having this new job was that he was given an allowance for his work clothes so he could pick out whatever he felt he needed or wanted to wear. Who doesn't love your company supplying your clothes? Anyway, the type of clothes that he had to choose from were made of a material almost like Dickies so I didn't really have to worry about those clothes either.

On occasion David would wear a shirt that I thought needed to be ironed (not too bad but a little touch up wouldn't help) and he would say "Eh, it's ok". It would drive me nuts because he wouldn't care what it looked like in the grand scheme of things because of him having to climb poles, crawling through attics, crawling under houses or trekking through the woods or whatever his job consisted of that day. In reality, if I had ironed it a little, you wouldn't be able to tell it when he got home.

Besides, I couldn't have convinced him otherwise. You see, David is strong willed and doesn't do things he doesn't want to do. He tells you like it is. He's not a fake person. Something I admired in him long ago before we even dated. He doesn't conform. I don't say that as criticism towards him, that's just how he is and people who actually know him, know that. That is one reason why I love him so much! He doesn't try to be like everyone else. Funny thing is, I was once accused of "keeping" him from something. Ummm ok, like I really possess the superpowers to strap him down and keep him from doing whatever it is......but whatever you want to think is fine with me. No skin off my back. Ohh silly people. How comical you can be sometimes. Thank you for the laughs. :)

Anyway, a few months ago, David was approached about a management position within the same company. Yes, exciting!! Scary but exciting because there are lots of changes that go along and could in the future go along with this decision. He decided to go for yet another chance to learn a different aspect of the company. I'm so thankful to God that He has been there with David at this company every day. I really believe that!

With this new job, that meant different clothes again. As a manager, his boss would rather he not wear shorts or jeans. He has to wear more dressy clothes. David has an endless wardrobe of Polo shirts but not necessarily pants. All of his pants were basically dirty work pants (not dirty, just dirty stained) which means he had to go shopping. I learned a long time ago living with my brother that men have their own sense of style no matter what you pick out so I don't attempt to buy clothes on a regular basis for David. He knows what he likes and what he is comfortable with so I let him shop for himself. Plus he's not a baby and is well capable of picking out his own clothes. Not to say that I haven't bought things for him in the past, but with him entering into a management position....new territory for him with this company....I want him to be as comfortable as possible. So what does he pick out? Cargo pants! Coupled with a nice Polo shirt and belt, cargo pants can look just as nice as regular dressy pants. Not suit pants of course, but dress pants. He looks sooo good dressed up too! ;-)

The downside of cargo pants.....I loathe ironing them! You can't completely get all of those little side pockets to lay flat enough to iron without totally screwing up the pocket part. And don't even get me started (insert Z snap here) on the flaps that go with all of those stupid pockets. Why do they even need so many pockets anyway?

I was thinking tonight as I was taking them out of the dryer how these pants would be the death of me. LOL! Always trying to make them look like they were just bought at the store is next to impossible. If you have a way of keeping your man's pants looking brand spanking new.....PLEEEASE let me know! But don't suggest starch....doesn't seem to go too well with all of the crevices these pants possess because of all those stupid pockets and flaps.

No really, it's what he likes and is comfortable with and as long as he's happy, then I'm happy! :) Love you babe!!

Interesting.....

The earthquake that hit Haiti back in the beginning of the year was devastating to that area and I remember hearing about a benefit concert on tv asking people to donate. I don't watch that much tv so obviously I missed it. Honestly, I would rather listen to music all day than watch tv, but anyway, a few weeks ago Allison told me about the remake of the 1980's song "We are the World" that was supposed to help raise money for Haiti.

Personally, I loved the original version because I can remember when it first came out. Kenny Rogers *sigh*. LOL! I grew up in the 80's and loved a lot of the music from that time. "From that time"....haha, makes me sound sooo old. But I loved the original version just because it was a good song with artists from all different music genres in it.

Well, I came across this "new" version and thought it was interesting. It had artists such as Josh Groban *sigh*, Celine Dion, Lil Wayne, Pink, Jennifer Hudson, Fergie and lots of others that contributed their voices to the remake. In fact, I don't think any of the people who sang in this version were in the original except for Stevie Wonder. We all know that Josh Groban *another sigh* and Celine can sing, but I had no idea that Pink and Jennifer Hudson had such great voices! I listen to all kinds of music but don't necessarily hear those two ladies sing like this. They were awesome in this song! I was also surprised to hear that Jamie Foxx could sing pretty well. There were some other interesting "add-ins" to this remake. I'm posting the video so you can see for yourself. I encourage you to watch and see if you can spot some other celebrities hiding in the chorus group. I was quite surprised. Hope you enjoy!

**Don't forget to pause the music playing in the sidebar first before you start the video**

By the way, I do like this version as well. I am really interested to hear what you think so be sure and leave a comment!!

OHH and for those interested, here is the original if you want to compare! :)

New Beginnings

This time last year I was a bawling mess. All day long....literally. This year was much better. I am still in shock that it is that time already! Going back to school time that is. We had such a fun summer and I hate to see it end already!! I remember when I was a kid our summers seemed so long. The kids now a days are lucky to get 8-9 weeks. I'm just waiting for someone in our area to decide that a "year long" school is ideal and should be implemented. Oh gosh I hope not. How miserable!

Last year I did not walk the kids into school on that first day and looking back, I regret it. BUT, the condition that I was in when I dropped them off would have made me look like a very unstable emotional crazy woman very upset momma. I could not stop crying! I'm guessing it was because it was something new.....new school, new people, new teachers, new friends, new in the fact that my two oldest were not going to be with me all day long....I could go on. I was so worried about Mimi. She was going into it not really knowing anyone. Bud? Eh, he'd be ok because he knew other little boys from baseball and from the kindergarten camp he attended but my little girl worried me. I knew that awkwardness that she was going to be feeling. I knew she was scared and unsure of her surroundings. I prayed for them and for their safety and that they would make at least one good friend. I prayed that God would be with them while they were in the care of strangers their teachers. I called my mom and sister, of course bawling, and asked them to pray for the kids and for me. All I could do was pray....all day. They were in His hands at that point! I couldn't wait for them to get back in the van because I would then know that they were ok and safe and sound. I missed them so much! I was crying when I picked them up too....joyful tears of happiness though! They both rattled off how they had met a new friend and how they had had a good day. It was different for them but good. I hope I never forget that.

David was able to be off today and go with us and I'm so glad! We walked in and dropped them off at their classrooms. I didn't want to let go of them. I just wanted to hold on to them for a tad bit longer. Yes, I'll admit, I was teary eyed! Almost lost it, but I held it together. Especially when we stopped back by Bud's classroom and watched him for a minute as he was coloring and he saw me and blew me a kiss!! What a sweetheart!

There are other moms who bask with delight that it's school time again and are so glad to drop their kids off or practically push their kids out the door and onto a school bus..... that's just not me. And please don't take offense if you are one of those moms. We are all different and have different ways of doing things and we all love our kids. I'm just saying for me, that I truly miss them while they are gone. Don't mistake me now....I don't miss the sibling arguments and things like that, but I miss their little sweet moments and watching and listening to them all playing together. I miss their silliness and laughter. I miss spending time with them. I'm so amazed at how their minds work and the things they come up with. Their innocence is precious to me.

We kept busy today which made the day fly by. I did get a little sad when Boogs said to me twice and once to David that he missed Mimi and Bud. Awwwww!

All in all they had a great day! I'm hoping and praying that the school year is blessed for all of them.

Is it me or does it seem like the days are passing by way too fast? My babies are growing up much too fast! But, I guess time does fly when you are blessed and having fun! I love you babies! :)

Mimi ready for 3rd grade and Bud ready for 1st grade. *sniffle*
