College football season starts today and I am soo excited!! We had a showing on the house today so I had to ride around for a little bit and as I did, I could definitely tell that college football season was upon us. There were soo many cars that were donning their orange and blue flags or their crimson and white flags. Of course, my van is displaying a proud Auburn flag and window sticker! Unfortunately "my team" is playing on pay-per-view so I will more than likely not be able to see it. :( But, I'm sure there will be lots of other games I can watch.
We have an interesting household in regards to college football. We are a divided house. Of course, I am for Auburn and wouldn't have it any other way. David is for Alabama (ick) and Dee-deed is for Georgia. Game time is fun! Especially the Iron Bowl!! We keep it all in good fun, but it is nice that I get to rub the salt in a little. For those that don't know, Auburn and Alabama have the biggest college rivalry that I know of. Auburn has beat Alabama in the last 6 years and every year that Auburn beats Bama, it makes the next year's game even bigger. The anticipation is tremendous!!
I also love this "season" because it's the beginning of the fall time. Things seem to slow down a little. Usually around this time I get my fall decorations out. I will probably do that tomorrow. Yes, it is technically not fall yet but something about this time of year is exciting. We all have so much that goes on with last minute vacation trips, school starting, Labor Day, fall festivities, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I know I just stated that things slow down a little and then listed a bunch of things that we all get caught up in, but I mean that with the days getting shorter and the anticipation of the holiday season coming up, for me...I tend to stop more and be thankful and stop more to enjoy the smells of the season. I have already been burning some of my pumpkin scented candles just because I love this time of the year so much! I can't wait to get my decorations out and usually I have my Christmas tree up the second week in November...yep, that's right...second week in November!!! I just love it!!!!! Anyway, I hope that everyone enjoys this time of year as much as I do. I could just squeal with happiness!
Btw, WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
