Oh Happy Day!!

UGH!! I am soooo exhausted. I don't really even see how I am typing this right now. Everything on my body hurts...it's a sign of old age. Let me just tell you about our day today.

We got up early and took Riley (our malti-pom) to the vet to get his annual rabies shot and to be groomed. I usually take him to the local Petsmart but they wouldn't groom him because his rabies shot from last year had expired since I took him a month ago...go figure!! So take note of that for those of you who didn't know. We came back home and Meggy and I started school. We then broke for lunch and then had the boys lay down for a nap and we started back doing schoolwork. At 1:30pm I got a call saying "This is so & so from so & so realty and we have an agent who would like to show your house today sometime between 3:30p and 5:30p." WHAT??????? We weren't expecting the house to start showing so quickly and sure as the day is long, the house was NOT up to showing standards. I looked around and thought 'I can't say no. This could be a potential buyer!' so I asked her if they wouldn't mind coming at 4:30p and she said that was ok. Since we were in the middle of doing school work, we immediately had to stop and the race was on. Of course, the boys had just fallen asleep! So the two of us girls were literally running around, and I mean literally running trying to get stuff done. I had sooo much to do too and I had to stop and ask God to help me and He again reminded me (along with David) that if this was the family picked out for our house then they wouldn't care about the little things..like nooks and crannies. So I tried to just focus on all the major stuff like cleaning all of the bedrooms, bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning the kitchen and did I mention that I had curriculum all over the entire dining room table? AND on top of that, I went downstairs to find that Dee-deed's room was a travesty. UGH!! Another room to clean. Of course the one day that she doesn't make up her bed and put away her clothes (as if she does that anyway-LOL!), someone wants to come and see the house. Oh let me just tell you. I was sweating so bad and my face was so red from all of the work I had been doing. NOW PLEASE don't think that we live in filth!! I try to keep our house clean every day, but when I know people are coming over (even family and friends) I have to have an absolutely spic and span shiny house. Anything less(to me for my house) is unacceptable. I am fine going to someone else's house who may not have picked or tidied up things before I came over, but because I am such a neat freak and I believe I have OCD in the cleaning department, my humble abode must always be clean. **Rabbit trail** I feel that if my husband can work as many hours as he does in all of the weather elements, then the least I can do is have him come home to a clean house, but I digress.

Anyway, I had been doing so much cleaning that by the time I was done I thought I wouldn't be able to stand up. The person with his realtor came at 4:23pm. I was at the door and told them that I was leaving so I loaded the kids up in the van with all of our dirty and clean laundry (because I don't want strangers looking at our skivvies) and we pulled out of the driveway and onto a side street in our neighborhood. I pulled the van over and started praying and thanking God for helping me get what I had to get done and asked Him to please bless the showing and bless my hard work. Well sure as I was driving back down the street, I saw the realtor leaving. WHAT????? It had been less than five minutes! That's right..all that hard work for less than a five minute showing. OHHHHH I was p*****!!! I pulled back into the garage and went inside and called our realtor. I asked her what did it mean in realtor terms if a person doesn't even stay at a house for five minutes?? She said that it was probably because he might have been looking for something specific and obviously we didn't have it so there was no need to continue looking. WEEEEELLL okay then! She said she would get some feedback from the realtor who showed it so I asked her to send it to me as soon as she got it. I want to know what our house didn't have to offer him. Was something wrong with it? Was it not clean enough because I would have to beg to differ on that one!!!

We eventually left and went to pick up Riley from the vet and they did not do what I had asked them to do. I specifically said short but not shaved. This is what they did to him.

You might be thinking that he looks fine but I'm telling you he looks like a rat. We were joking around calling him a Drat or a Rog (for rat dog). :)

As I was uploading the pictures of Riley I noticed some pictures on my camera that I did not take. Check them out. I now know who the culprit was due to the shoe picture. LOL!!

By the way, the picture taker is not the little man in the pics. It's the little man with the new shoes on. LOL! Just gotta love my babies!!

**ALSO, Dee-deed started her own blog page today. Check it out www.apb1976.blogspot.com**

Our house has been on the market for 3 months now and I'll give you a few tips:
1. if you don't have time to pick up before a showing throw everything in the dryer and microwave! They aren't there to look at your appliances and I am notorious for having "piles" everywhere. Papers fit nicely in a microwave :).
2. every morning light a good smellin' candle in your kitchen and/or den. don't forget to blow it out when you leave.
3. if your boys nap at the same time everyday, tell your realtor this and they won't call to schedule a showing during that time. while it is true that every showing is a potential buyer, it is also true that if they are really interested then they'll be a little flexible. after all, you are still trying to live in your house!
