BAHHAAAAAAAAAA!! I had you going there didn't I? I know..I'm messed up!!! Seriously, I watched a bee commit suicide today. He crawled straight to the edge of the pool and jumped in. Wonder why? Oh come on, I was just trying to make a funny!! ;)
Seriously though, today was a great day! I know there were people praying for me and I felt those prayers! All the praise goes to God! Today was the first day of 1st grade for Meggy. We started late morning and had a little bit of a rough start because I had given the boys some new blocks to play with and it ended up in an argument and my oldest cat, Ittie-bittie, decided to escape from the yard through a hole under the fence. She's a scoundrel. It was the constant interruption that was the rough part of it, but things finally settled down and we were working on school. We broke for lunch and then the boys went down for a nap and Meggy and I continued with school. She did great!! Towards the end you could tell that she was getting a little tired of it, but that was to be expected. This was our first day of school, a new learning experience for the both of us and a new routine that we will have to get accustomed to. It was fun! Tonight I made her start a journal. This is something that I want her to do so that we can look back at the end of the year and see how much her writing, phonics, spelling and thought processes have developed. Today her journal entry said, "My mom is my teacher. I had pizza rolls for lunch." Now, I know you may be thinking big whoop, but for us that is great. I don't need a big entry now, just something for her to express what she did today.
This is of Meggy practicing some of her handwriting.
After school was finished I decided to take them swimming where the above "incident" happened. It was so nice..a little chilly, but nice. It counts as P.E. for Meggy too which is an added bonus! We were basically the only ones there. I would rather go when no one is there then when it is crowded. The kids had fun and I realized it was time to go when Boogie's bottom lip was quivering. So anyway, that's pretty much a wrap up of our day.
I recently saw a church sign that said, "A day hemmed in prayer won't unravel". I have been repeating that saying to myself over the last few days and I really believe it helped me today. Thank you to those who prayed for us today! I ask that you would please continue to pray for me as I teach Meggy this year that God would help me do what I believe He has called me to do. I know He will equip me! Please pray for Meggy that she will thrive from this experience and gain all the knowledge that she is supposed to gain and then some. Please pray for the boys that they will understand that school time is school time and that they need to play together nicely. I cherish your prayers! Loves!! :)

That sounds GREAT! Congrats! I'm glad you told me that you posted about it because for some reason my google reader hadn't told me you had a new post yet.
I'm glad y'all had a good day and it sounds like you're doing great!
Just think. . . in no time, Meggy will be "journaling" on a blog :)
My blogging reminds me a LOT of all of my homeschool writing assignments, but for some reason, now I really love it!!
