Please Say a Prayer

I just wanted to ask you to please keep Jeremy and Johnna Stafford in your prayers. They are really going through a tough time right now. You can click Our Journey with Baby Stafford to read the beginning of their story. Johnna's mom is Bud's k4 teacher this year and was Mimi's k4 teacher two years ago. We just love Mrs. Jo and her husband John, so please lift this sweet family up in your prayers.

Game Ball & More Projects

Last Thursday, Bud had a late baseball game. His main coach was out of town so the assistant coach pitched again. To put it nicely, they lost their second game. They've only lost their first one and now this one. Both times he pitched. I just think he pitches too high and too fast, but what do I know? Anyway, the coaches have a thing where they give the game ball to the best player of the night. Well, guess what?? BUD GOT THE GAME BALL!! He was the only consistent hitter that night. For all of you baseball junkies, he was 4 for 5 and had 4 runs. He was soo excited to get the game ball! Can't you tell by the look on his face?





David also decided to do two more "projects". A few posts back I mentioned how he decided to try his hand at tiling the downstairs bathroom. Well, he also decided to tile the little space in front of the downstairs bonus room back door and also the kids bathroom upstairs.

Laying down the backer board. In case you are interested, when tiling upstairs, you have to place backer board down first. We just put it over the vinyl that was already there because keeping the vinyl down helps create more of a moisture barrier. Interesting huh?



Boogs wanted to help daddy too, so he was helping in the kitchen.




All finished! It looks great! I'm so proud of him. It really has been a learning experience for him.



Now, projects he still would like to do.

1)Tile our bathroom
2)Tile the kitchen
3)Get new carpet
4)Fix the crack in the garage floor, seal it and then paint with rubber paint?
5)Tile back splash in kitchen
6)Paint bonus room,downstairs bathroom and kids bedrooms
7)Get granite counter tops in kitchen
8)and the list goes on and on.

HA! We'll see. I see them all in small increments.
I'll have to get back to you on those.

Bloggers Block or Slacking?

Well, I have either had bloggers block or have just been too tired and busy to actually blog. I know...slacker. So, I'm just now getting around to posting our Easter pics.

The Saturday before Easter we dyed Easter eggs. I always loved doing this as a kid and want my kids to enjoy it too. They have so much fun!

Our finished eggs. I boiled about 17 but several cracked so we used what we had. And I'm not one of those people that thinks the dye is harmful. I grew up eating our dyed boiled eggs at Easter and I turned out just fine so I'll continue the tradition with my kids. Soo, we had "speckled" deviled eggs and I used the rest in my potato salad.


Easter morning started out with YUMMY M&M's pancakes!



David and I also decided when we started having kids that we wanted the main focus of Easter to be about Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, so the kids don't get their Easter baskets until after church. We also have decided to scale back on things in regards to holidays because we have gotten so tired of all of the commercialization of every holiday, plus it's almost a waste of money in some cases.

Bud already had attacked his basket by the time I snapped this picture.




The kids also kept asking me about the "Easter Bunny" and I finally told them that mommy and daddy were the Easter bunny. I have always told them that Santa and the Easter bunny were just the fun part of those holidays but that the real reason we celebrate those holidays is because of Jesus' birth, death and resurrection. I don't know if they have put two and two together about Santa yet. We'll see.

We took one outside and then decided to try another one inside. Silly twin girls...we know!




While I was inside getting lunch ready, David went outside and hid some Easter eggs for the kids to find.











All in all it was a fun day just relaxing and remembering what our Savior did for us.

It is a video of Heather Whitestone in the 1995 Miss USA pageant performing ballet to this song. It is just beautiful! I hope you will take the time to watch it. It's only about two and a half minutes long.

I feel so defeated at times, but am soo thankful for the greatest sacrifice and love ever known. Thank you Jesus for what you did for such a wretch like me. I am so undeserving, but you took my place anyway. I love you!

Back in March I wrote a blog talking about how I didn't like change but I loved the new changes in our house. I never did get around to posting what our "new" bedroom looked like all finished so I thought I would go ahead and post it. I still love the colors that we chose and I feel sooo relaxed in our bedroom now. I have even been sleeping better on our new mattresses so much so that David has said that I have started snoring some. Of course I totally believe it's because I am pregnant and my nose stays stuffy all of the time. Yesss, that's it!

This is what our bedroom looked like before....yes, boring and woodsy. I must point out that my hubby picked out the comforter. I hated it from the get go but was willing to sacrifice so that our room would look somewhat masculine.



AND this is what it looks like now!! I just love it and especially our sleigh bed!! For as long as I can remember, I have wanted a sleigh bed.







I don't know if you can see it clearly, but I bought some blue ribbon and tied it around the curtains to make tie-backs.


I know the walls are still bare, but I want to take my time in hanging the accessories. I tend to feel rushed to get things done sometimes and then look back and regret what I did and then it's too late, so I am taking my time on re-hanging things.

I feel like our bedroom is more "grown up~ish" now and has a good balance of masculinity mixed with femininity. Does that make sense?

Someone asked me on that previous post where we were sleeping while the room was empty and being painted. Well, we slept in Meggy's room. It was crazy! She has a single bed that we pushed up against the wall and then we put our king size mattresses on the floor and slept there while we waited on the painting and then to get our new furniture. Bless her heart she had no room in her room but she sure did love it that we were sleeping in there with her. She cried when we moved the mattresses out of her room. She missed us! Isn't that sweet?

Yes, we did downsize to a queen size bed and I love it! I don't feel so far away from David anymore. I like being able to get snuggy~wuggy(family term) with him. The only time it gets cramped is when one of the kids comes and gets in the bed with us but that doesn't happen too often. :)

Happy 1 Year Blogiversary to Me!!

Ok, so it's been 1 year since I started this blog and it's been alot of fun! I love being able to change out my backgrounds, share my thoughts and feelings, share prayer requests and pictures of my babies to the one or two of you who might actually read this blog. I really have enjoyed this!

Sadly, I don't have any cool giveaways like my friend, Rachel (Grasping for Objectivity) had, but I do want to say thanks to those of you who do read and leave comments. I love reading the comments you may leave!

The Season Has Started

Friday night was Bud's first baseball game. Their opening season game was cancelled due to weather last weekend, so this was their first real game.

They played pretty well but ended up losing 18-6. I think part of the reason for their loss was that their assistant coach pitched for the first time to the little guys and they are used to the main coach pitching. The assistant coach seemed to pitch a little to high and the boys still swung at the ball. But, it's not about winning or losing is it?? Or is it??

They were supposed to play a double header yesterday to make up for last week's game but for some reason one of the games was cancelled.
