Back Blogging

I didn't post much in January because there was just too much going on and I don't feel like I ever really got the chance to breathe. With school starting back and having our Christmas with my mom and a few other surprises along the way, I am a little behind in posting some of our events of last month so here are a few pictures of things we did.

Because my mom spent Christmas in Georgia taking care of my grandmother and trying to spend as much time as possible with her (and now I am so glad she was there) we missed her being with us on Christmas, so here are a few pictures from when we finally got together with mom.

My brother Steven & his wife, Molly.

Granny & her babies.

Well, I am just about sick of this computer for the minute. I have posted a lot of other pictures of things we have done in January TWICE and for some reason when it "auto saves" the post, it is only keeping the ones I have posted here. So for now, I'm going to walk away before I get a bat to this thing. I will post more later.

Thankful Thursday

I know I have said this before but I am just so thankful for my family. So thankful for my husband who is rough around the edges but often times surprises me with his sweetness and gentleness. He makes me laugh more than anyone I know with his crazy sayings or singing. He can make a joke out of almost anything and always finds humor in any situation. How sad to not have laughter in your life.

I really am blessed because I have a husband who loves me and our children and thinks about our needs before his own. He is an extremely hard worker at whatever he does. He doesn't care about what others think, unlike me who sometimes worries too much about what other's think.

I'm thankful for my babies. They are my life and make me a better person and remind me of what's good in this world. Despite other's attempts at being cruel, my babies are what's pure in this world. Their outlook on life is so innocent and I love that. Sometimes I wish I was their age...not having to worry about grown up situations.

I am in no way saying that my life is perfect. No one's life is perfect. There was only one perfect man who walked and lived on this earth, but instead of focusing on what could be negative in my life, I choose to be thankful for the good and the bad. God tells us to be thankful for ALL situations and it's in the bad times (and of course the good), that I want to be drawn closer to Him. God tells us to think on things that are pure and right. He doesn't want us filling our minds with negative thoughts and sometimes things in the past start to creep into my mind and want to discourage me, but I know that my God is bigger than that and it has to be a daily surrendering on my part of those discouraging thoughts that I may have. I'm human and sometimes those thoughts run away, but I have to remind myself Who's in control and Who's burdens are light.

I look at myself and realize how wretched and unworthy I really am, but I am thankful for the forgiveness given to me so that I am able to approach the Throne of Grace and KNOW that I am worthy of His unconditional love and forgiveness.

My life really is blessed because of my heavenly Father. Without Him I would be nothing and have nothing.

What are the blessings in your life?

You Call Me Yours

*I love this song. It reminds me that no matter what trials or things I may face in this life, God calls me beautiful and He says "This one's mine". I love that!*

I hear You calling out my name as only You can do
Your voice it covers all my shame, the old You turned to new
No matter how things look to me
You see a destiny, a perfect promise

You call me beautiful, You call me righteous
You call me worthy of Your Son's own precious blood
You call me holy, You call me strong at my weakest
Forgive an impure, You call me Yours

It's hard for me to understand exactly what You see
I slip and stumble everyday but still You say believe
You say you will finish what you start
You've seen me from my heart and not the bruises

You call me beautiful, You call me righteous
You call me worthy of Your Son's own precious blood
You call me holy, You call me strong at my weakest
Forgive an impure, You call me Yours

You call me beautiful, You call me righteous
You call me worthy of Your Son's own precious blood
You call me holy, You call me strong at my weakest
Forgive an impure, forgive an impure, You call me Yours

Heartbroken

Please keep my mom, her family and us in your prayers as we are mourning the loss of my precious Mama. She passed away this morning and we know that she is rejoicing with Jesus in heaven but those of us left behind are sad and will be for a while. Thank you.

I was tagged...

I like doing these "tagging" posts although sometimes I don't always have the time or necessarily like to "tag" others, but this one seemed easy and fun!

The Rules:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder
3) Explain the picture
4) Tag 4 people to do the same. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

Here is my choice:
This was Bud back in March of 2008. We were getting ready to dye Easter eggs and he gave me a little quirky smile. Too cute!

Ok, so I'm going to tag:

1)Allison B.
2)Allison C. B.
3)Bethany
2)Sara

Have fun ladies and let me know if you decide to post a picture. :)

Gooshyness

Last night, David and I had the opportunity to go on a date! Thanks to Dee-deed for watching the kids so we could go and enjoy ourselves!

We started out by going to one of our favorite restaurants, Outback! We thought about trying something new but David was in the mood for a really good steak and Outback never disappoints so we just decided to go there. We waited for about 30min and finally were seated in a spot that was just perfect. It was in a corner booth and they weren't seating anybody in the booth behind us so we had no one around us. We sat and had actual adult conversation and it was soo nice. With him working so much lately we've missed the adult talk with one another. We started talking about how we couldn't believe this coming October, we would be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. My how the years have flown by. Funny thing, he told me that on the day of our wedding and when we were standing at the front of the church, he was wishing that all the "wedding stuff" was already over and we had already been married 10 years. I asked him why he would have thought that and he said it was because he was sooo nervous. David is the type of person that doesn't really like attention on himself. He would rather sit in the back and be quiet than draw attention to himself. Now don't get me wrong, when he feels wronged he'll definitely let you know it, but otherwise he's quiet and stays out of the lime light, especially when he doesn't really know anyone. And the thought of him standing in front of all of those people, most of whom he didn't know, that day was terrifying to him. But, he got through it and we laughed about how things went with the wedding and looking back, how we would have changed several things. One thing that made me smile last night was the way he told me how pretty I looked that day. He's told me that in the past but something in the way he said it last night just made me feel so special. I just love him and am soo thankful for him. He's rough and tough on the exterior and that sometimes can flow into the interior...you know, manliness and all...but at other times he can be sooo sweet and unexpected!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and decided to try and make it to a movie. I have been wanting to see that new movie Marly and Me. I hear it's a great movie and a tear jerker at that. Supposedly even grown men and teenage boys have been seen shedding a small tear in the movie theaters. Anyway, we drove to the closest movie theater and even one that wasn't so close and decided that the showing times that we could make it to was too late and would put us at home really late with the kids so we decided not to go see the movie. Instead we decided to browse in some of the shops of an outdoor mall and ended up in the Bath and Body Works store. GIRRRLLSS, let me tell you. They have got some GREAT deals going on right now! Lotions, creams, anti-bacterial hand washes and other things that range from $1.00 to $5.00!! I racked up! David asked them why they were getting rid of all of their stuff and some of it was newer stuff and the associate told him that they were getting all new packaging so they were having to get rid of all of the old stuff. Hey, I'll take it!! I'm thinking of going back...would make some great Christmas or birthday gifts!

After we left there we decided to head to the Cheesecake Factory for some dessert! It was kinda late and there was still a long wait so I went in and got us one slice of their Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake with two forks and we went to a local "lake" and shared our cheesecake. It was so nice to sit in the peace and quiet and enjoy our yummy dessert together. Those rare times always seem to be so special! We then headed to Dee-deeds to pick up our very sleepy babies and headed home.

Date nights are great and I am so thankful for my sister who loves my babies like they were her own and doesn't mind watching them so that David and I can spend some good quality time together! Thanks Dee-deed and we love you!! :)

Thanks honey for such a wonderful and enjoyable night! It was perfect!! :)

It's Official

We are expecting a baby boy!!

This is a picture of the baby's face as if he's looking at you.

This is the BOY shot.

This is the baby's foot.

Right now he is breech but the doctor said he looks great and weighs about 10 ounces. Meggy said she was a little disappointed that she wasn't going to have a baby sister but that she was happy she would have another baby brother to play with. Of course the boys are excited because you know....EWWWW girl's have cooties!
David said now there would be a better chance for one of his boys to go "pro". LOL!!

We feel very blessed! :)
