Last night, David and I had the opportunity to go on a date! Thanks to Dee-deed for watching the kids so we could go and enjoy ourselves!
We started out by going to one of our favorite restaurants, Outback! We thought about trying something new but David was in the mood for a really good steak and Outback never disappoints so we just decided to go there. We waited for about 30min and finally were seated in a spot that was just perfect. It was in a corner booth and they weren't seating anybody in the booth behind us so we had no one around us. We sat and had actual adult conversation and it was soo nice. With him working so much lately we've missed the adult talk with one another. We started talking about how we couldn't believe this coming October, we would be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. My how the years have flown by. Funny thing, he told me that on the day of our wedding and when we were standing at the front of the church, he was wishing that all the "wedding stuff" was already over and we had already been married 10 years. I asked him why he would have thought that and he said it was because he was sooo nervous. David is the type of person that doesn't really like attention on himself. He would rather sit in the back and be quiet than draw attention to himself. Now don't get me wrong, when he feels wronged he'll definitely let you know it, but otherwise he's quiet and stays out of the lime light, especially when he doesn't really know anyone. And the thought of him standing in front of all of those people, most of whom he didn't know, that day was terrifying to him. But, he got through it and we laughed about how things went with the wedding and looking back, how we would have changed several things. One thing that made me smile last night was the way he told me how pretty I looked that day. He's told me that in the past but something in the way he said it last night just made me feel so special. I just love him and am soo thankful for him. He's rough and tough on the exterior and that sometimes can flow into the interior...you know, manliness and all...but at other times he can be sooo sweet and unexpected!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and decided to try and make it to a movie. I have been wanting to see that new movie Marly and Me. I hear it's a great movie and a tear jerker at that. Supposedly even grown men and teenage boys have been seen shedding a small tear in the movie theaters. Anyway, we drove to the closest movie theater and even one that wasn't so close and decided that the showing times that we could make it to was too late and would put us at home really late with the kids so we decided not to go see the movie. Instead we decided to browse in some of the shops of an outdoor mall and ended up in the Bath and Body Works store. GIRRRLLSS, let me tell you. They have got some GREAT deals going on right now! Lotions, creams, anti-bacterial hand washes and other things that range from $1.00 to $5.00!! I racked up! David asked them why they were getting rid of all of their stuff and some of it was newer stuff and the associate told him that they were getting all new packaging so they were having to get rid of all of the old stuff. Hey, I'll take it!! I'm thinking of going back...would make some great Christmas or birthday gifts!
After we left there we decided to head to the Cheesecake Factory for some dessert! It was kinda late and there was still a long wait so I went in and got us one slice of their Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake with two forks and we went to a local "lake" and shared our cheesecake. It was so nice to sit in the peace and quiet and enjoy our yummy dessert together. Those rare times always seem to be so special! We then headed to Dee-deeds to pick up our very sleepy babies and headed home.
Date nights are great and I am so thankful for my sister who loves my babies like they were her own and doesn't mind watching them so that David and I can spend some good quality time together! Thanks Dee-deed and we love you!! :)
Thanks honey for such a wonderful and enjoyable night! It was perfect!! :)
