Last year we bought a pear tree and planted it in our front yard. It is a small dinky thing but I just know over time it will grow to be this beautiful magnificent creation of God.
Well, we've had some pretty cold days around here this past winter and even a good snowfall. Good in the fact that it doesn't really snow here often so any snow amount is a good amount. We had about 3-4 inches so that's good enough for me. Anyway, my babies were really concerned about our tree. Driving down the parkway of our neighborhood and even seeing the trees already blooming at our church really made my kids wonder if our tree was still alive or not.
The other day, I heard Bud say, in his most excited voice, "Momma, our tree is happy again!" (As opposed to a sad tree? What's a sad tree?) And I said "Happy?? What do you mean by that?" and he said "Our tree has green leaves on it and a few little flowers!" All the kids ran to the window to look and I heard squeals of joy ! They were soo excited. Isn't that just precious?
Our happy tree:
Yesterday at my MOPS group, Mrs. Peggy, the sweet lady who does our devotions and Bible time handed out this poem and I just loved it.
Hands
Thank you Lord for dirty hands
That touch my stove and fridge;
For sticky little fingers that
Try to build a bridge.
For careless hands that go astray
In search of something new;
For hands to hold and show the way
As mother's often do.
For precious little hands in which
Great faith so abounds;
For silly little hands that reach
To touch a mother's frown.
And thank you for your guiding hand
That leads me to the light;
That lifts me when I stumble
And points me to the right.
As little hands reach out to me
To show them what to do;
I'm steadied, reassured and loved
As I reach up to you.
