Fun Times

Today I had the chance to see a dear friend of mine, Abby, from high school. She was in town for a family member's birthday celebration and had a little bit of extra time for us to visit. It was fun! Because it was so hot for our little ones outside, we met at a local Chick-fil-A and let the kids play in their indoor playground. It was fun catching up on each other's lives and other friends lives that we had known from high school. We did a lot of laughing!! I hope we get the chance to do it again soon!Love you girl!

Nostalgic

Last night D and I were laying in the bed and were flipping through the channels and came across this infomercial from Time Life. You know the ones...well, they were going on and on about this "totally awesome" set of cd's that were filled with rock ballads. We kept watching and listening and I realized that most of the songs they were playing I loved! I grew up in the 80's & 90's but I'll always remember the 80's. Everything was so different then..at least to me. In my world everything was so innocent. I can hear a song from back then and it will help me to remember places we lived, friends I had, silly things we did, the chicken pox that I had one summer, my big bangs, the fact that I used to wear 2 different colored pairs of socks at the same time switched on each foot and many other fashion foe-pas,specific things I got for Christmas one year, the fact that I almost cut one of my toes off and had to have stitches, the beach(b/c we lived near one) and countless other memories. I just loved the 80's! So I made a playlist with some of the songs I heard last night and ones that I remembered loving. "Totally rockin' and fun times"......Anybody else have any funny 80's stories..would love to hear them! :)

Today~part 2

I decided to break these posts up into two different ones..why? Just because I wanted to. :) This weekend was spent just being lazy basically. We had to cancel any plans we had because of this virus and we did a lot of laying around. I'm telling you, it's exhausting and I wouldn't wish it upon anybody! D had been promising Bud that he would take him fishing so when D felt better they went fishing. And yes, Bud has a sunkist/dorito mustache.

We also took the kids down to our neighborhood pool for the first time this year. They had a lot of fun swimming. I'm sure..wait scratch that..I know we'll be down there a lot this summer.

Birthday pics

It's been a while since I posted. This virus has lingered on for way too long and is the most exhausting virus I think I have ever had. I'm praying it will go away soon!

We asked Meggy what she wanted for her birthday and she said she wanted a water table..I know kinda babyish but she and the boys love to play in water so we ended up getting her a sand and water table. We also went out to eat at a local Chinese restaurant and it was sooo good! AND I'm all about the slide shows.....

Ugh!

Please pray for us. We all (except for Bud) have the virus and it's miserable and draining. Our energy is zapped. It's highly contagious so please pray that he doesn't get it. We've had to cancel our weekend plans which is irritating, but maybe and hopefully it will pass soon! :(

She is 6 today!

My baby girl turns 6 today!! I can't believe it either! It seems like the last 6 years have flown by so fast! We asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday this year and she decided to not have a party. HUH? Yep, she did. She said that she wants to go out to eat tonight to a Chinese restaurant and that she wants to do something special when we go to the beach in a few weeks. Well, ok then! I'm sad b/c we are not doing a big party, but on the other hand, I'm sorta glad b/c if you know me, I get crazy busy scurrying around to make sure all the details are just perfect. It is a little bit of a relief to not have to do all that. But this is her day and we are going to do what she wants to do. I know I posted this the other day, but I wanted to post it again in honor of her 6th birthday today!

Sickness (Part 2)

Well, it's been determined that we have a GI virus. It's mainly Meggy and Boogs. And bless his heart, he has major diaper rash because of it. I keep putting ointments to help relieve the pain but nothings really working right now. As I type this, he is laying on the living room floor asleep on a towel with nothing but a t-shirt on. I'm hoping the air will help with some of it. Any other ideas anyone? So please say a prayer for both of them that this will hurry up and go away and that the rest of us don't get it. Also that Boogie's little hiney will clear up quickly!

OOHH and our air conditioner downstairs stopped working for some reason. It's only 2 1/2 years old, same as the house, but thank the LORD for a good friend of David's who is fixing it!!
