A *Little* Political

I don't like to get political but I am so glad this election is almost over. I am tired of seeing all of the negative campaign ads and all the signs. As if placing fifteen signs all in a row on the interstate as I'm traveling 70mph will make me want to vote for that person.....

Thinking about tomorrow I know that God's hand will be in the election. Whoever wins will be God's will for this country. He already knows the outcome and already knows what the future holds for this country. I'm not going to get into a debate of which candidate has the best policies or agendas. But one very important and major issue that I take into account is which candidate is for life. Life meaning supporting life and not thinking someone has the right to take it away.

One thing I don't understand about this country is how if someone takes a pregnant woman and kills her and her baby as in the Scott Peterson case, that person goes to trial with the charges of killing the woman and killing the unborn baby she was carrying. But if someone walks into a clinic who is pregnant, and decides she doesn't want the baby for whatever reason makes the choice to terminate the pregnancy, it's that persons right. But that person and doctors and nurses involved aren't held accountable for their actions in killing the unborn child, but instead are covered and protected under some "right and choice" umbrella. I don't understand how people, lawmakers, whoever say that it's a baby when someone as in Scott Peterson kills it, but it's only a fetus if the mother chooses to terminate the pregnancy. I don't understand. My thoughts are getting away here.....

My point in this blog was just to say that I hope everyone voting is carefully and prayerfully voting for the candidate who chooses life. I know and understand that everyone has their own opinions, but for me this is one of the most important issues in this election. The economy, the war and all the other things will fall into place, but life is what keeps us alive.

Just Some Happenings

Here are some pictures of things we did in the month of October.

We visited the local fire station on a field trip for Meggy.

Sitting in the fire truck.

Meggy & Boogs were sitting and listening to the fireman. Of course, Boogs was covering his ears when the fire chief was testing the fire alarms.

Laying on the floor was Bud's idea of listening to the fireman.

This picture was taken after we told the babies about our new baby.

Meggy was so excited and she didn't believe us at first. She had told us a few nights before that she had prayed and asked Jesus for a baby sister. Isn't that precious??

Bud's Fall Party at school.

Getting ready to go trick or treating!

I love my family!!

Guess what I bought at Walmart the other day??

Yep, that's right...'Tis the Season!! YAY!!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my mom and our Dee-deed(my sister). I don't get to see them very much just because of where we live and because of the fact that Dee-deed recently moved out, but when they do come and visit, I enjoy it. Last night they came because Dee-deed's cat of 17 years has gotten away. Dee-deed hadn't been able to get her yet because of some things going on with her townhouse, so she had left Skootie-pootie here until things are ready. Skootie found a way out of the fence and has disappeared. We have looked for her for a few days with no luck. We are sad because we just don't know where she has gone. We have posted flyer's and were even out with flashlights last night looking for her. We are praying that someone has found her or that she comes back home.

Anyway, I am thankful for them. They are two of my best friends and I can tell almost anything to them. You are hopeful that the time comes when your relationship with your mom changes from a parent/child relationship to a friend/friend relationship and that's how we are. Of course, mom still gives much needed parent advice sometimes, but knows when to be a friend at the same time. Dee-deed and I have a special relationship anyway. We have always been there with each other through the good and bad times and she gives me advice when needed. She reminds me to look at the good in things when I get worried sometimes ,but gently tells me to calm down a bit and think about things before making rash decisions. I'm really blessed to have each of them in my life and I love both of you with all my heart!!

So Much for Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday I wrote a blog about how I was feeling and I sat up last night thinking that what I had written might touch on a few nerves. My intention wasn't to hurt anyone's feelings or say anything about someone specific. Based on things in the news and in my own life is the reason why I wrote the blog. If you take the basic content, what I said is true about today's society. We have so much hatred, unkindness, rudeness, careless and selfishness in our world today that I sometimes feel as though, how can I teach my children what is right in situations and then something happens and the person on the other end doesn't respond in a mannerly way? The way I try and teach them is by my actions, not by words because we all know that words can "cut to the bone" as someone I know puts it. And maybe that is some people's way of dealing with situations, but none the less, it is hurtful, not right and it all boils down to the way we choose to love people. It doesn't matter if it's a stranger that you are blessing out or a family member, it all comes down to loving someone. I'm not writing this to be preachy. These are just thoughts and some things that I have noticed in my own life that I might need to work on. So if someone read yesterday's blog and thought, 'you know, that's true and I need to do better with that', then it was all worth it. If you read it and were offended then maybe you realized you had some things in your own life that you needed to work on as well.

My blog was basically about how we need to treat one another with respect and love. I am not a person who thinks they know more than anyone else or acts better than someone else or thinks that I've got it all together. I'm a human and I make mistakes too. I will be the first to admit it. Everyday is a learning process and maybe with different events in my own life I have sat back and pondered these things. So to take my blog and judge it (especially if you don't really know me) isn't fair. You may think you know me, but you don't really know me. You don't know what's in my heart and I may not be the best writer to express exactly what's in my heart but all I can do is try to relay what I am feeling at the moment.

All I put out there was that we take a look at ourselves and see how we really treat other people. Are we being hateful or are we loving our neighbors as Christ tells us to do? My mom used to quote this saying that I hated growing up because it had this powerful line to it and then dragged on a while, but the basic gist of the quote is "Life is 1% what happens to you and 99% how you respond to it". As an adult, I can now appreciate that quote. Life and how you make it is truly how you respond to the situations that come up in your life. You can either to choose to forgive or not forgive. You can either choose to love or not to love someone.

As I read in someone else's post, "Forgivness is giving up the right to get even". WOW!

Something to Think About

I don't like to read things(blogs, emails, newspaper articles, etc.) where the writer is continually complaining. Now I completely understand when someone needs to get things 'off their chest' or just rant. We are all human and need to express the way we feel instead of bottling it up and holding it inside. That's not healthy. Sometimes writing down our feelings helps to express those emotions in a non-confrontational way and sometimes it's just easier to express things in writing. Even if the blog, email, letter or whatever never gets sent. But when I read an email or blog where the person is constantly complaining, it bothers me. Does that person not ever have anything good in their life to write about? To thank God for? They can't find one blessing in their life?

Another thing~Are people so wrapped up in themselves that they just don't care if they bring someone else down? I think that is one major problem with society these days. People have just stopped caring. They have stopped caring how they treat one another, how their kids treat adults, how strangers don't care to hold the door open for an elderly person or even another person at all, how people in the same families don't care how they treat their family members, how you do someone a favor as letting them in in the driving lane and not a simple wave of the hand to express thanks. Just plain 'ole lack of decency is gone. Plain old values and manners are gone and I'm so baffled by it. We live in the most rich and abundant country yet we treat each other with almost no respect and love. I don't understand parents who tell their kids not to cuss, drink, smoke and disrespect them, but purposely disrespect people in their own lives, cuss, drink and smoke themselves. The kids see it and they learn by what we as adults do, not say.

We have become a society who cares so little for others, except for those in our 'closest circles', and we are so passive about it. Thinking, I'm too busy, or I'm in a hurry, or how will it benefit me? It boils down to selfishness. Not caring about others because it doesn't fit into the mine or me category. Not caring how your actions affect others and how it makes them feel. Whatever happened to Love one another? Why can't we just LOVE one another (and I'm not talking about a hippy, groovy kind of love either)? Simple as that. Even if you think you have been wronged by that person, why is it so hard to show love and forgiveness? Forgiveness doesn't mean you forgive one time, it is a continual process. Isn't that what God does for us? Isn't that why He sent His only Son for us? To die a humiliating and painful death on a cross burdened with sin that wasn't even His own so that we could be forgiven? One of Jesus' most important messages when He walked on this Earth, was to LOVE one another. I don't think it means to love when you feel like it or need something from someone. It means to love without fault. Yes, I admit, it is sooo hard to do sometimes, but why? Selfishness. Loving someone sometimes is not easy, but we should love others in the good times and in the bad.

At the risk of sounding like I am complaining, that is not what I am trying to express here. Just something for all of us to think about, including me.

'Twas the Night Before the Elections

I thought this was hilarious....but at the same time scary!

'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

" On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi"
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

I'll be back....

I haven't blogged much this week due to mere exhaustion and being extremely nauseated. As you know, we've had a busy week. We told the babies about our new baby, told our families about the new baby, told our friends about the new baby, went to MOPS, went to the fire station on a field trip, had morning sickness, went grocery shopping which we have been putting off because let's face it...grocery shopping is no fun, back and forth to school, teaching school, taking lots of naps and so on. I actually do have pictures of us telling the kids about the baby and of our field trip to the fire station but I'll have to post those later.

I know it's not Thursday, but I'll post a Thankful Thursday anyway. I am thankful for morning sickness. Now I know you are probably thinking, WHAT??? But as my doctor said, morning sickness is a good sign that things are going well for the baby and she's sorry that I have to go through it but thankful! I love my doctor!! She's the best!! Everytime I see her she genuinely acts excited to see me and acts as if it hasn't been almost a year since she has last seen me. She treats me like one of her good friends and even left me with a hug the other day. She always ask me about my other babies (as if she personally knows them) and seems to really care about me as a patient. I am thankful for her!

I might not post much for a while just because of the tiredness and nausea, but hopefully soon I'll get those pics up I was talking about.
