Fall Busy~ness

We've been pretty busy the last two months.

In September we made a very quick trip to see my grandmother (my dad's mom) in Georgia. David worked so much overtime last year that it actually had been a year and a half since we had been able to get away and go see her. Really it had been since my mom's mom passed away. :( They both lived in the same little town so it was a joy to be able to go visit both of them. When we were little, we called them "Mama at the white house" and "Mama at the brown house" and it just stuck as we got older.

Since this was the first time we had been back to visit since my Mama passed away, we drove by the house that she had lived in for over 50 years and the house that my mom grew up in. I tell you what, that was hard! It made me cry.....especially for the fact that someone else is now living there and it's weird to think that I'll never be able to go back in that house and see it through the eyes of my childhood and what I remember from all of the good times we had there. My grandmother was so special and she loved us and she loved David and she loved my kids! Those who were blessed to know her and be loved by her will always know how much of a precious, precious lady she was. I miss driving up the road seeing her sit in her rocking chair by the front door waiting on us. I miss her.

The kids got to meet their 2nd cousin, Eric, for the first time. And our family that was able to be there got to meet Pudgie for the first time too!

I think it went well! ;) Just a *little* too much love there Pudgie!

I love Eric's smile in this pic!

Ohh silly Pudge!

Love my cousins Rachel and Laura Beth! And you too Dee-deed!! Catherine, we missed you!

David was off yesterday and today so he's been busy catching up on a few things around the house. He has worked basically from sun up to way past sun down for about two weeks with no off day so I'm enjoying spending some time with him. I really miss him when he's gone like that , but we are very thankful that he has a job that he loves!

**Don't forget about my silly little poll on that <----- side of the page. Trying to decide if I should keep changing my backgrounds to be colorful and seasonal or keep them plain like this one I have on here. Silly, I know, but hey...I want to know what ya'll think! :)

I've got lots more to post but I want to go spend time with David soooo.....

Have a blessed day ya'll! :)

**Also, Congrats to our friend Christian and his football team for winning the championship game this past weekend!!**

It's definitely weird to know that someone else now inhabits a place that holds so many precious and vivid memories. I got a little teary reading about you missing your Mama sitting in the rocker on the front porch because it reminds me that those days are long gone for me as well. I miss my Grandmother dearly and have been without her for 15 years now, but I know I'll see her again one day. :' )

I"m glad that the trip wasn't all emotional. It was so good to see you guys and meeting the youngest of your m&ms. I"m also glad you got to met my little guy. The pictures are darling!
